Maintains infrequent technical liaison with customers, their representatives, and contact with other laboratory professional/scientific personnel. Knowledge of chemical principles, theories, practices, and established methodology in performing lab analyses with emphasis on gas and materials testing ( e.g, failure analysis of metals). Responsible to identify unknown materials / contaminants associated with rocket engine and propulsion systems. Applies professional scientific knowledge and techniques to the investigation, study, analysis, and reporting of testing samples or research programs. Performs well defined experiments or studies ranging from simple to moderate complexity. Must be competent in the use of computer and computer software. May be required to coordinate their assignment with other laboratory scientists.
