JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

Performs analytical tasks related to system enhancements and maintenance; serves as the liaison between the business unit and the programming/technical units; makes recommendations to management for system enhancements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the development and maintenance of security policies and guidelines in alignment with regulatory requirements. Socializes policy changes to subject matter experts and line of business.
  • Assists in the development of control documents with Security Architects for applications being governed.
  • Ensures scheduled control checks for Information Technology, Information Security, and line of business defined controls are tracked and reported against.
  • Performs IT risk assessments to evaluate risks and compensating controls and participates in enterprise-level risk assessments.
  • Prepares formal written reports on governance, risk, and compliance.
  • Oversees IT regulatory reviews, internal audits, and SOX testing.
  • Effectively communicates IT issues and risks to management both verbally and in writing. Coordinates and evaluates acceptable management responses and follows-up to ensure corrective actions have been implemented.
  • Creates detailed project plans and tracking documents to track a project from start to finish. Automates where possible.
  • Plays a key role in drafting and communicating issues related to projects/request to the business unit, management, and technical staff. Supports policy exception process, reviews, and approvals.
  • Creates documentation related to projects to ensure they are properly communicated to the field and Help Services.
  • Generates reports on assessment findings and summarizes them to facilitate remediation tasks.
  • Studies existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness of controls.
  • Directs, coordinates, and reviews work of others to develop, test, implement, and modify projects.
  • Provides mentoring, guidance, and training to staff by providing feedback, reviewing documentation, supervising work, and addressing/resolving problems.
  • Works with Hancock University and Retail Services to create detailed training, policy, and procedures as the need arises.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by Senior Management.
  • Incumbent is required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Associate's Degree or higher preferred
  • At least 5 years related experience
  • A combination of education and experience is acceptable
  • Knowledge of records management software products, imaging systems, and automated databases
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent communication, analytical, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Preferred knowledge in Accounting software; Contact Management systems; Database software; Development software; Human Resource systems; Internet software; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 50 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
