SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Manage and maintains the Quality Assurance Department and its functions.

Assures that product (both finished product and raw materials) satisfies Silgan and customer

specifications and requirements.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administers Company policies and procedures, as required
• Responsible for Product Safety
• Serves as GMP Coordinator
• Maintains guideline for re-inspect or accept product on hold
• Maintains effective communication with customers and vendors
• Ensures that all required documents and records are established and maintained
• Serves as Lead Auditor
• Serves as Management Representative
• Serves as the SQF Practitioner
• Responds to Customer Complaints
• Manages QA techs to ensure proper training, evaluations and cross training
• Manages other relevant portions of the Quality System
• Responsible for ensuring the organization is kept informed of changes to relevant legislation, scientific and technical developments, and relevant industry codes of practices by the following methods:
  • Receive information from customers or agents in overseas countries
  • Maintain customer contact and provide outgoing Certificates of Analysis
  • Maintain registration and meet requirements of the SQF Code
  • Maintain registration and meet requirements of the FDA and IMS Audit
• Performs other duties assigned by PFC Quality Manager

AUTHORITY LEVEL (if applicable):

EDUCATION:

Preferred: Bachelor or Associate's Degree

EXPERIENCE:

Preferred: Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)

SKILLS:

Required: Excellent communication & interpersonal skills; strong writing, computer and presentation skills; strong ownership of Safety; manage people in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred: Approved SQF Certification Training, HACCP & Gainseeker system
